The Mercedes-Benz plant in Molsheim in the Alsace is the base for Mercedes-Benz Trucks in France. With some 500 employees it is the largest truck conversion plant in the world; and it is also the headquarters of the "Mercedes-Benz Custom Tailored Trucks" (CTT) business, which coordinates and works together with selected partners to realise special customer requests. The plant was founded in 1967 and thus has many years of experience in producing special vehicles.
In addition to its main activity of truck conversions, the
conversion of Mercedes-Benz vans and Mitsubishi Canters for the French market, cab production for the U300, U400 and U500 Unimogs and component production also take place at the Molsheim location. In addition, Molsheim is the site of an international development centre for Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks.
