Boasting a 6.3 litre capacity, the V8 engine from engine manufacturer AMG (based in Stuttgart Affalterbach) produces an impressive 386 kW (525 hp) and accelerates the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The engine is electronically limited to 250 km/h. Torque delivery peaks at 630 Nm and is generated at 5200 rpm. The maximum speed of this lively assembly is a breathtaking 7200 rpm. Sporty engine sound is compulsory.

This impressive performance data appears even more attractive when you consider enhanced efficiency. The use of light-weight materials has reduced the vehicle’s overall weight. In conjunction with the consumption-optimised transmission mode and regenerative braking, the E 63 AMG consumes around 12 per cent less fuel than its predecessor model.

Looking beyond the hard facts, the E 63 AMG boasts a range of equipment that turns every journey into an experience. The AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission with four operating modes enables shifting in less than 100 ms. If required, you can also change gear manually using the aluminium gearshift paddles on the AMG sports steering wheel – as used in motorsport. The new AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension handles raw road power using the refined three-level damper system. All changes to the dynamic handling function settings are made via the AMG DRIVE UNIT. You will also marvel at the AMG steering system, which responds directly and with unrivalled precision.
